New State to Call Home

The hubs and I are officially in North Carolina! It's so nice to see tall trees again after living in the desert of west Tex-ico. I've got my laptop up and running so I'm back to work!

I love BACON!

I've always enjoyed reading the news with some nice crispy bacon. What about this very blog with a side of bacon. Yum!

Add some bacon to your day here.

Tera's Custom Invitation Design

Tera asked me if it was possible to combine two of my stock invitation designs to create a custom one for her. Of course it is! She wanted a combination of both the Damask Delight and Chandelier designs and to use a red, black and white color scheme.

This is the final invitation, response card and menu with the ceremony program still to come!

I can't wait to finish the program too! Thank you Tera!!

Tara's Custom Save-the-Date

Tara of A Beautiful Wedding for Less contacted me about designing her postcard save-the-dates through my Etsy shop. She and her fiance love board games and they are using vintage ones as reception centerpieces. (How cute!) After seeing a few of her inspiration invitations and her favorite fonts we decided the design should be a kind of game board illustrating the progression of their relationship.

All of the elements are hand-drawn and then scanned into the computer for colorization. Once we got everything just right I uploaded the finished designs to VistaPrint where Tara was able to take a advantage of their many free offers.

I enjoyed using my hand-drawing skills in combination with computer illustration and I would really like to do more projects like this. I am really excited with how her save-the-date turned out and can't wait to get one in the mail!

Thanks Tara!! You can read about this project on her blog here.

2009 USAFA Challenge Coin

My brother is a senior at the US Air Force Academy and the parents of the class of '09 wanted to create a coin for all the graduates as a parent "spirit mission." Familial ties gave me the opportunity to come up with the design for the coin that was then produced by Coin Force.

While I've not yet seen it in person I've been hearing rave reviews. Here is the final product!

Custom Map & Direction Cards

Custom designed map and direction cards are not only an effective way to keep your guests informed but they are also a great way to convey to your guests the kind event that they are in for. Both stylish and functional, this is an element you can't live without.

Milk Glass for Sale!

So I spent months collecting milk glass from the numerous thrift stores in town prior to the wedding. I searched high and low for items that would become centerpieces on our reception tables. And now that it is all over (more than seven months over) my mother is tired of seeing my collection all over her house. So I'd like to throw this out there for all you brides collecting milk glass ... buy mine! I'm thinking $40 for all of it and then you'd pay shipping (whatever it is).

If you live in Colorado my mother would be happy to unload a large box of bud vases, compotes and cups into the back of your car. Please contact me if you are interested!

Here are some of the pieces available:

A little about me

This is me, post hair and make-up but pre-wedding in the required "bride" paraphernalia. (I wrapped the veil around my waist for easy transport)

Since this blog is a new thing for me and my clients I thought I'd introduce myself as a person and not just an orange bird. What better way than to show a few of my favorite pictures from my wedding day?

Last but not least, a funny one with hillbilly teeth.
